[Following Desert Island Discs broadcast] Thank you for sharing your life story.  I was very moved by the challenging childhood you had and greatly admire your resilience.  Your determination as a midwife to make a difference to the way women and babies are cared for and also so that nurses and midwives are given all of the support they need is inspirational. I applaud you for your work in investigating the maternity services at various hospitals and hope that your four pillars can be implemented throughout the entire NHS.
