Aching Arms
Aching Arms helps bring comfort following the loss of a baby during any stage of pregnancy, at birth or shortly after by offering teddy bears, which are dedicated in memory of babies who have died, as comforts. They provide bears to 58 hospitals across England and Wales for midwives to offer to newly bereaved parents and will post bears directly upon request. The charity also runs free awareness training programmes for health professionals.

Child Bereavement UK
Child Bereavement UK helps children, parents and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people up to the age of 25 who are facing bereavement, and anyone affected by the death of a child of any age.
We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

The Lullaby Trust
The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for families bereaved by the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child. Also raises awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep. Working with the NHS, they run a national service for bereaved parents, supporting families before and after the birth of their new baby.

The Mariposa Trust

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity
Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby; works in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families; and promotes and funds research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

Petals
Petals is a charity that delivers a free specialist counselling to women and partners who suffer psychological distress from trauma and grief related to pregnancy loss, as well as working nationally to raise awareness of the need for emotional support following pregnancy loss. Counselling is currently offered in some hospitals including in Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Essex, London and Oxfordshire.

Scottish Cot Death Trust
Support services include bereavement support, counselling and befriending and is available to any family affected by the sudden, unexpected death of a baby or young child. They fund research into the cause(s) of cot death (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and provide free education to parents and professional on ways to reduce the risks of cot death and to raise awareness of cot death.

SiMBA
Based in Scotland, SiMBA supports anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby during pregnancy or close to the time of birth. They also provide Memory Boxes via hospital units, aim to enhance the bereavement services already being offered and help families to gather precious items for a Memory Box. They support the refurbishment of Family Rooms in hospitals and training for midwives and hospital staff.
