If you have suffered a maternal injury during childbirth the charity MASIC can support you.
MASIC is a UK charity supporting women who have suffered severe injuries during childbirth known as OASI (Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries) or 3rd and 4th degree tears.
Women who have sustained these injuries often suffer in silence. Seeking help can be difficult, and many GPs are unaware the problem exists. Many women who have sustained these injuries also experience postnatal depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
MASIC is run by injured women and healthcare professionals who are committed to better detection and prevention of injury during childbirth, and we are proud to have Donna Ockenden as our Patron.
